Tap apple id at the top of the screen your email username and select view apple id. Switch imessage on and your ipad will attempt to activate. Set up face id or set up touch id so that you can unlock the device with a glance or the touch of a finger. At this point you may be asked for your apple id which should be unique to the individual s device. You can also set a six digit passcode to help protect their data.
If you re using macos mojave or earlier choose apple menu system preferences icloud manage family then click the child s name. Tap the banner at the top with your name in it then tap itunes app store. On your mac open messages then do one of the following. If not or if you ever need to re activate it it s simple to do.
