Place your alexa echo dot in an area where you have a stable wifi connection. Follow the instructions to set up your device. Tap on the icon for echo alexa and tap on the device you want to rename. Just head to the alexa app and into the settings page for that individual device. Select your wifi from the list that appears in the alexa app and enter the network password.

Save the password in the alexa app. Wait till the light on your echo dot turns stable. Plug it into the wall outlet and turn it on. Select connect to join your echo dot to your wifi network. Plug in your device.

Open more and select add device. Open up the alexa app on your smartphone or tablet. Create the details need. If you get an error you might have entered the code incorrectly. At the settings screen for the device tap on the edit name.
