How to clean headphone jack port. With the device turned off stick the cue tip into the headphone jack and twist it around to rub all the sides of the jack. Repeatedly insert and remove your headphone jack from the device after the alcohol has dried. Then spray a bit of alcohol on the swab and start cleaning the port. All you need to do is remove bit of cotton from the stick until it can fit inside the port. Rubbing alcohol has a chance of corroding metal and should be used scarcely.

One clean headphone jack. Put some alcohol on the end of your headphones on the jack do not pour it in the headphone jack hole. Then let the jack dry and there you go. After that slowly push the bare end of the swab into the jack and spin it to brush off the sides of the jack and dislodge any debris. Use a dry cloth to wipe away protruding debris.

This way you can ensure a deep clean of the port. Put the brush inside the jack with the power off move up and down and twirl around in a circle. Using a cotton swab is another way of effectively cleaning your headphone port. Wipe the jack with a clean dry towel before inserting.
